Learning through living is at the heart of Nash College. We want to support our students pursue their vocational goals and live full and independent lives. We do this through personalised and community-based learning.
We tailor-make each student’s approach to learning. Our educational approach is flexible and responsive and we’re not limited to taking one ‘type’ of learner. From a student’s first visit, we plan a learning pathway that will enable them to get the most from their college experience.
Community based learning
We are committed to enabling our students to enjoy a full and livable life in their community. We work with each student’s hopes, dreams and aspirations for adult life, in consultation with their wider circle of support.
Medical support is on hand for students from our qualified nursing team. We support students with prescribed medication and procedures and if necessary, emergency care. Students are treated by an experienced local GP and can access specialised services from Bromley Primary Care Trust, including dietetics, gastro and epilepsy services.
A small group of residential students study here, and we work with students’ families to support with transitioning and settling in. All residential services are supported by a trained staff team who care for students’ needs 24/7, including nursing care. Students are encouraged and supported to develop their life skills by getting involved in buying food and preparing their meals, as well as doing their laundry, washing up and looking after their room.
