Our Skills for Adult Life course supports our young people to take that next step, helping students to gain the confidence and skills to promote independence, choice and wellbeing.
How we do this
Students follow a personalised learning programme that is designed to meet their abilities, goals and aspirations.
We recognise that our students learn in different ways, so our approach is flexible and focuses on helping each young person to acquire the knowledge and skills to lead fulfilling future lives, building on what they already know.
We do this using five key drivers, known as SHAPE, which is embedded across the curriculum.
• Shared lives
• Health and wellbeing
• Accessing work and volunteering
• Personal development
• Essential skills
Throughout the course, we track and record students’ progress, adapting learning programmes as required.
