College supports local foodbank

Throughout October, we supported Shrublands Trust, Croydon, by collecting foodbank donations to help families in need.

This initiative supports our Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural cultural calendar, and has links to traditional Harvest Festival collections.

Shrublands Trust runs a community foodbank providing food and grocery items for those who need it most. Before the half term break, students from Sycamore View class visited the foodbank hub to deliver our donated items on behalf of our college community.

Deputy Head Nick Mallett said: ‘The Shrublands foodbank project has been an amazing success. We are thrilled with the generosity of our students, their families and our staff.

‘This project has really clear links to our curriculum, particularly aspects of accessing work and volunteering. It also reflects on British Values, helping others in need in our college and in our local community.’
