As voters headed to the polls for the local elections, students at Shaftesbury Nash College had their say in a mock election.
Designed to mirror the structure and rules of the voting process, the mock election gave students a hands-on opportunity to understand how voting works in practice.
Students visited the polling station, collected a ballot paper, and made their choice of which party to support. After casting their vote, they returned their completed papers to the ballot box.
After polling closed, the votes were counted and verified, giving students an insight into the impact of their individual choices.
Labour was the winning party in our mock election with 36 votes, followed by the Green Party with 32 votes.
